Biography

Charlie is a results-driven counsel with an exceptional track record of advising business clients of all sizes and at all stages.  Charlie’s practice emphasizes representing businesses as general outside counsel and focuses on general corporate governance, business transaction matters, and real estate transactions.  He advises businesses on employment matters, commercial contracts, ESG, regulatory, finance, intellectual property, and transactional matters.  Charlie manages national and international legal affairs, negotiating and managing complex transactional and corporate contracts, and optimizing legal, compliance, and privacy functions for his clients by helping them to implement foundational regulatory compliance frameworks.  Charlie is able to guide clients through the business life cycle, from start-up to growth, venture capital investment/financing, ownership transition to younger generations, and successful sale.  Charlie’s industry focus includes clients in the renewable energy and data center infrastructure industry, Portland’s athletic and outdoor sector, light industrial and manufacturing, real estate development, wineries and vineyards, alcohol and spirits, and the emerging cannabis industry.
